Team Bethan is proud to support record-breaking Run Barra 2026.
As part of our 2026 commitment to Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, members of Team Bethan were delighted to be volunteers at this year’s Run Barra event in Oldmeldrum, helping support one of the charity’s biggest fundraising events to date.
Bethan Customs Consultancy has been a long-term supporter of Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, with our Director, Nicola Alexander, having a close connection with the charity and becoming a trustee in 2012. This year, we wanted to build on that relationship by becoming more involved, not only through fundraising and sponsorship, but by supporting the charity’s events in a more hands-on way. And Run Barra 2026 was the perfect opportunity for our team to do this!
Run Barra 2026.
Run Barra has become one of the north-east’s most loved community fundraising events, bringing together runners, families, volunteers and local organisations to raise vital funds for Kayleigh’s Wee Stars.
This year’s event was the biggest yet, with 550 runners taking part and more than £10,000 raised for the charity. The event also marked an exciting milestone with the introduction of the first-ever Run Barra half marathon, alongside the popular 5K, 10K and junior races.
From the youngest runners taking part in the children’s events to those completing the challenging new half marathon route, there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. Supporters lined the routes, volunteers helped everything run smoothly, and the whole event showcased the incredible community spirit behind Kayleigh’s Wee Stars!
Bethan was proud to play a small part in making the day a success, as volunteers and running a charity table, meeting participants and seeing first-hand the dedication and organisation that goes into delivering an event of this scale.
Supporting Kayleigh’s Wee Stars.
Kayleigh’s Wee Stars was established in 2012 to provide financial support to families across Scotland where a child has a terminal illness. The charity works closely with hospitals and hospices to ensure families can access support when they need it most.
To date, more than 700 families have been supported, with over £1 million provided in grants to help families create precious memories together during incredibly difficult times.
For Bethan, supporting Kayleigh’s Wee Stars is about more than fundraising - it is about helping raise awareness of the charity’s work and being part of the network of support that helps families across Scotland.
Throughout 2026, the Bethan team will continue to support Kayleigh’s Wee Stars through volunteering at events, fundraising activities and practical support. Run Barra was a brilliant start to the year and a reminder of what can be achieved when businesses, charities and communities come together!
