Breakfast community events in Oldmeldrum.

The first Bethan at breakfast event was in October 2025 - and it was a full house!  We had homeworkers, remote workers and business owners in the room and we had tea, coffee, breakfast treats and a lot of conversation. Bethan’s Director, Nicola Alexander steered the informal meet up, and we spoke about the top five challenges that everyone was facing in today’s working world.

Whilst we didn’t want to run a structured event with a formal agenda, we knew it would be helpful to lead conversations and start open discussion with some well-placed questions  - these questions were based on input from those who attended too. For example, at the November Breakfast at Bethan event, we focussed on social media (mainly the fear of social media) and in December we met up for a walk-and-talk session around the village.

Breakfast at Bethan in 2026.

In January of this year, we started the Bethan breakfast events with a session on strategy and planning - the non-frantic kind - and coming up in February is “moving from reactive to ready”, where we’ll explore time and capacity management as a group.

Having a monthly theme helps facilitate open conversation and helps people chat to those they don’t know already and, as the events become more popular and input comes from a wider community, we can explore bringing guest speakers and topic experts.

Bethan community and collaboration.

The Bethan team are the hosts, but the intention behind the Breakfast at Bethan’s events is more community and collaboration than sales and networking. We have a beautiful space in the office and want to open our doors and support the community where we can; working from home and running a business can be a lonely environment and we want to build networks around us that encourage conversation and community building.

As Bethan’s Office Manager, Aby Wilson, says: “There's a mix of people who attend - men and women - and it's a really, really lovely, relaxed environment. It’s just a chance for people to come together and support each other - a lot of the people that are coming are coming back again and again. So hopefully they're getting something useful out of the sessions!”

Breakfast at Bethan’s is on the last Friday of every month, the event is free to attend and you can book your space here
